✝️ Nailed to the Cross ✝️
By Rend Collective My sin. That’s the sin that’s most hard to forgive, my own sin. It takes agreeing with God and His instructions found in the Bible. That’s one of the reasons that the prophet Isaiah recorded these words from God; “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.” Those are Powerful words! *If* we agree with God and His reason for forgiving us of our sins (the sacrifice of Jesus) they are gone. Yes, gone. In the Book of Psalms the Lord says our sins are thrown as far away as the east is from the west and the prophet Micah wrote that our sins will all be cast “…into the depths of the sea.” Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth and died for us that sin would be overcome and destroyed in our lives. Jesus came into this realm from His throne in Heaven to destroy all the works of the devil. All of them and their effects in our lives and the lives of everyone we meet. One of the inherent problems with us is that we always want to be God and resolve our own sin and we just can not. People will try just about anything to feel accepted by God. Some folks just ignore the obvious even though their heart aches and just paste a smile on their face. Some folks fill their lives with activity, from sports to work, anything to occupy their mind and forget about the pain and loneliness inside. Everyone separated from their Father in Heaven is lonely, everyone. And then night comes and it gets worse. Where can you go to escape your pain and sin when it’s dark and you’re finally alone with yourself? When you’re finally exhausted from working hard all day? When the TV and the net are shut down? When there’s no more news to read? When there’s nothing more to occupy your mind with. When you’re alone. Some folks will attempt to medicate the pain of sin away—that never works. At some point you become sober and not only are the issues still there—you feel worse because you’ve failed once again. Some folks just hide in socially acceptable ways. It’s a terrible unMerry-go-round… Fortunately, there’s a solution, the Lord Jesus, the Son of God. He came from Heaven down to earth and lived here for 33 years. And then He gave His life to free us for the unMerry-go-round of sin and heartbreak. Sin destroys us and Jesus came to set us free from sin and the destruction it causes in our lives. When we humble ourselves we receive His forgiveness. And then He gives us the ‘grace’, or the power, to live in a different manner. To live a life that honors God Himself, a life that allows His purpose to be worked in and through us. WoW! That’s exciting. His desire is that we have Life and an abundance of it. And He said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life…” He is true Life and offers us an abundance of Himself! Now that’s wonderful news—that’s the Good News that Jesus spoke about the whole time He was on earth. And He offered this Good News to everyone for all time. Have some Life today. Psalms 103:12 12. As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Micah 7:18-19 18. Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in unchanging love. 19. He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities under foot. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea. 1 John 3:8 8. …The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. John 14:6 6.
