Celebrating Today's Baptisms!

7/7/2018

💥 Celebrating Today’s Baptisms! 💥

Genesis 28:10-12
Jacob’s Dream
10. Then Jacob departed from Beersheba and went toward Haran.
11. He came to a certain place and spent the night there, because the sun had set; and he took one of the stones of the place and put it under his head, and lay down in that place.
12. He had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

Baptism washes away our sins—all of them and that’s wonderful. When we’re Baptized we are being Baptized into Jesus Himself. We’re not baptized into a club, an organization or a religious institution, we’re baptized into Jesus Christ the Son of God Himself. That’s is so Awesome.

When we’re baptized our sins are forgiven and washed away. If we haven’t yet received the Holy Spirit we’re also given the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us and power us through life at that time. What a Promise and the promise was for everyone, even those like you and me who hear Him whisper His Love into our hearts 2,000 years later! It should be no surprise that the enemy works so hard to prevent folks from being Baptized.

Here are a few of my favorite scriptures about baptisms:

Acts 2:38-39
38. Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”

Acts 8:12
12. But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.

Acts 10:46-48
46. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered,
47. “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”
48. And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

Acts 19:1-6
Paul at Ephesus
1. It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples.
2. He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
3. And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
4. Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
5. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.

“And even when I am old and gray...I will declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.”   Psalm 71:18

PS: We’ll be working on setting up our new Red tent as well as the Love Never Fails! Puppet Theater in the morning. I expect the Burgers, Sliders, Hot Dogs, Watermelon and all that stuff will be served around 12:30 and then we’ll head down to our pond for Baptisms and after the Baptism Swimming, Peddle Boating, Volleyball, Kayaking or just plain relaxing.
